Our Gorgeous Guinea Fowl

We got these as 8 week old keets - they are still only about 3 and a half months old. They are great little birds, following us all over the place and constantly on the look out for food. Darting in and out of the long grass borders and bathing in the sun on top of the garage/shed or the cars. Using the deck as their personal hang-out and watching what we are up to through the windows.
We just love having them about.

 

 

Update March 2013 - The girls and boys are now sexually mature and happily proving it on sunny mornings on the lawn ;)

They have their beautiful facial colours now and look simply stunning even when lazing under a feijoa tree in the afternoon shade.

They are pushy enough to land on my head when I am too slow for them to the feed bin, but not really keen on cuddles, perhaps a back stroke or two whilst noshing....
