A life more lemony........

If you search the web you can find a zillion good reasons for increasing the intake of lemon into your daily diet. However, lemon tarts, lemon meringue pie and lemon sorbet are probably not as effective as some other forms of consumption.

One way I have increased my intake and, as a by-product, increased the intake by the cherubs is simply in water.

It makes me and them drink more water and ups our natural lemon intake.

I simply fill a carafe with water and plop in slices of a whole lemon (from our organic trees), giving them a little squeeze too. By having a carafe ready and full all day (refilling as soon as it empties) I am less likely to reach for the kettle and the tea bags.

The cherubs also think it's a blast as I give them cheap 'sherry' glasses, the kind that costs cents to replace. So they are getting used to handling and drinking from proper glasses (and getting very good at it too) and they feel very grown up (all they drink is water from their stainless steel bottles and some milk during the day from cups - I was horrified to read about the average 10 tsp of sugar in fizzy drinks and similar in juices, we are NOT going there!).
